Simple Friendship.....

The following 4 cards were made to coordinate with the
card portfolio I posted yesterday. 

The Cardstock Colors are Stampin' Up!'s
Very Vanilla, Kraft and Chocolate Chip, and
Bella Bleu Designer Paper

The Simple Friendship Stamp Set
used here is also from Stampin' Up! 





Ink Colors used here are Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip.
The cut out flowers are
colored in very lightly
using Close to Cocoa classic ink with a Blender Pen. 
In order to get a soft look,
pull just a little color from lid of the ink pad
with the blender pen.
Start in the center
 and blend out doing one petal at a time.

when rubber stamping meets up with quilting!

Nouveau Chic

When I first looked at all the beautiful new
Designer Series Papers in the Stampin' Up! idea book &  Catalog,
Nouveau Chic was not on my list of favorites.

My first impression was....
It's not my style, and using it would certainly be a challenge!

But the more I play with it and
when I see what others are coming up with,
it's becoming one of my favorites!

Casing the Catalog......

Here are 2 more cards that we made last weekend at stamp camp.....

This card was cased right out of the Stampin' Up! idea book & Catalog. 
It's show on page 168. 
The only change we made was replacing the silk flower from the pretties' kit,
we used the big shot with the birds & blooms sizzlet to make the flower. 

The die cut pendant notes are so easy to embellish and are gorgeous! 
The stamped old olive strip at the bottom looks like ribbon event up close!

Very Little Stampin'

This card was designed by Lucy Hartman for our stamp camp.

 

This is a very fast and simple card
using Stampin' Up!'s Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper.
The window on the front of the card is made by punching with the Modern Label punch
through the DSP and the Black cardstock so the white shows through.

This is such a sweet stamp set...I love working with these little girls! 

All images have been stamped on Watercolor paper with Staz-on ink and colored in using watercolor crayons with a blender pen.

This card uses papers from the Sweet Nothing's Simply Scrappin" Kit found on page 164 of the 2009 Spring~Summer Catalog.

I know I'm a little early,
but I need to get this card in the mail....
so I decided to post it a little early.

I love doing this kind of card.   It's always so much fun to see how it winds up coming together.  

 

The card uses Stampin' Up!'s Top Note Bigz Die.  I also used the Texturz Die inked with Chocolate Chip ink on the Chocolate chip strip.

Stamp Set:  Baroque Motifs, All Holidays

Cardstock: Baja Breeze Textured, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Shimmery White, Parisian Breeze Specialty Paper

Ink Pads: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze

Embellishments & Accessories: Top Note Bigz Die, Texturz Plates, Kit #4, Ribbon Originals - Valet, Stampin' Sponge, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds (centers of flowers), silver brads, corner rounder, Chit Chat Rub-ons.

The inside has an 8" x 5-1/2" piece of cardstock that's accordian folded every 1".
The only folds that are taped down to the inside of the card are the 2 ends. 

Each square measures 2" with the stamp piece measuring 1 - 3/4".

Patchwork with the Top Note Die......

I love this technique!  Start with a piece of cardstock 5"x 3-3/4".
Using the 1-1/4" square punch, punch 12 squares from various printed papers.
Use the 2 way glue pen to adhere the squares to the larger cardstock. (This way the corners won't lift once the piece has been die cut.  Line the "quilt square" upside down on the Top Note Die, pay close attention to the points, the measurements are close.
With a Stampin' Write Marker, make small "x" stitching lines.  I went over the dotted out line with the marker as well.
On this quilt square, I put it through the big shot once more with a texturz die, to give it a little more of a "quilt" look.
