Nouveau Chic

When I first looked at all the beautiful new
Designer Series Papers in the Stampin' Up! idea book &  Catalog,
Nouveau Chic was not on my list of favorites.

My first impression was....
It's not my style, and using it would certainly be a challenge!

But the more I play with it and
when I see what others are coming up with,
it's becoming one of my favorites!

Wow......it's been so long!  I'm finally getting dialed back in after taking a week to recover from the end of the school year!  I hope you're all enjoying your summer vacation!

They’re the perfect friends for the special, bright-eyed girls in your life. This set is part of Shelli's Signature Collection

This is such a sweet stamp set...I love working with these little girls! 

All images have been stamped on Watercolor paper with Staz-on ink and colored in using watercolor crayons with a blender pen.

This card uses papers from the Sweet Nothing's Simply Scrappin" Kit found on page 164 of the 2009 Spring~Summer Catalog.

Accessories and Embellishments used:  Flower fusion, silk flowers from the Pretties Kit, clear rhinestone brad, scallop circle die and big shot, circle scissors, watercolor crayons and blender pen.

Patchwork with the Top Note Die......

I love this technique!  Start with a piece of cardstock 5"x 3-3/4".
Using the 1-1/4" square punch, punch 12 squares from various printed papers.
Use the 2 way glue pen to adhere the squares to the larger cardstock. (This way the corners won't lift once the piece has been die cut.  Line the "quilt square" upside down on the Top Note Die, pay close attention to the points, the measurements are close.
With a Stampin' Write Marker, make small "x" stitching lines.  I went over the dotted out line with the marker as well.
On this quilt square, I put it through the big shot once more with a texturz die, to give it a little more of a "quilt" look.

Printed Window Sheets.....

My challenge this week was to design cards using the new printed window sheets. 
I love working with window sheets and I'm so glad to be able to offer them once again! 

Today's post includes 2 of the cards I've come up with....over the next few days, I'll show you some of the other "printed window" ideas bouncing around in my head!

This first card uses the printed Polka Dot Window sheet.   This is my favorite print of all the windows.  It looks so pretty on just about any color, but I especially like the contrast on the black textured cardstock.

Stamp Camp Projects.....

I wanted to share with you a few of the stamp camp projects we did last weekend.  This was most definitely a team effort!  We have a great team of very talented and creative demonstrators.  We met on a couple of different days planning and designing these projects. 

These projects were truly a group effort!

Here are 3 of the 5 projects we did.
This card uses the "Yummy" Stamp set that is available free!  For details, click on the Sale-a-Bration catalog in the left column.

The ceramic pot is decorated with a piece of decor vinyl, it was die cut using our Big Shot and the little leaves sizzlet die.  Teri Wells is our Decor Elements Expert!

The tumbled marble tile is stamped with classic ink using the "Rose is a Rose" Stamp set. 




This card was designed by Lucy....
using the Sale-a-Bration Yummy Stamp Set.

It's a little difficult to see in the picture, the night of navy strip is rolled with "Bella's Border" Stampin' Around Wheel and Versamark.

This was a fun card.   There are a lot of elements to it, but nothing really difficult.

I'm loving all little Birds, the new on board products and the new ribbon originals!! 
This card uses the On Board "So Tweet", and orange rick rack from the ribbon originals Pig Tails.  After experimenting with several different methods of coloring the bird and the flower, we actually found that we liked the look of the classic ink on the on board the best.  We used sponge daubers with the ink pads to apply the color.

Big Shot Felt Flowers.....

Make your own Felt Flowers! 

Here's a Tree Branch created by one of my "partners is design" Lucy Hartman. Lucy made her own felt flowers using Flower Layers Originals Die and her Big Shot.  The Butterflies were created using the Stampin' Up! Exclusive Beautiful Butterflies and our Taste of Textiles Designer Series Paper.

These pictures barely capture how beautiful and stunning this really is.

Here's a close up of the branches so you can see a little more detail in the flowers and butterflies.
